How we work
Our college consultancy model sees our students receive individualised support in every aspect of their US/UK (or EU) application(s) — from university selection strategy, test prep and personal statement/essay support, to extracurricular mentoring and interview practice. Here’s how we work!
01. Crafting a plan and getting started
After your initial assessment with one of our Academic Advisorswe will build a highly personalised plan based on your age, current situation and admissions goals. Next you’ll be introduced to your Educational Coordinator who’ll help you organise your entire Crimson journey and act as a regular communication base for you and your family.
02. Building your university application list!
Your Strategist is the ‘captain of your application ship’ helping you build out a personalised application list and formulate a highly personalised roadmap. Your strategist will help you pull all elements of your application(s) together, ensuring your final submission(s) will be as perfect as they can be.
03. Lifting your standardised test scores
Whether it be the SAT or ACT, AP or UK course specific exams, out tutors are standardised test top scorers who can help you lift your scores above the competition. As a Crimson student you’ll have access to the Crimson App where you can organise tutoring sessions, access practice tests and get instant expert feedback.
04. Improving your extracurricular candidacy
Your ECL or extracurricular and leadership profile is a key component of your US and/or UK application(s). Our ECL mentors, who are accomplished project builders and often Ivy League or Oxbridge grads themselves, will help you expand upon your passions to build a capstone project and/or other significant, high-impact initiative.
05. Working with your essay mentor
Working with your essay mentor you will brainstorm, ideate, craft, edit and refine a personal statement that resonates with admissions officers. Our mentors are top school graduates who understand the nuances of what it takes to write a stand-our personal statement or supplemental essay.
06. Prepping with your interview expert
Our interview mentors have sat in that interview seat before – at Oxford, Cambridge and other top schools in the UK and the US. They will work with you to make sure you’re prepared for every question possible, have the skill and confidence to think on your feet, and help you prepare questions you can ask your interviewers in return.
Our US applicants have received offers from Harvard, Stanford, Princeton, Yale, Columbia, MIT, UPenn, Brown, Cornell, Dartmouth, Caltech, UC Berkeley, UCLA, UChicago, Duke, Northwestern and all schools in the US Top 50, while our UK applicants have been accepted to Oxford, Cambridge, UCL, Imperial, LSE, King’s College London, the University of Edinburgh and many other top UK institutions.
More specifically, many of our students have 2, 3, 4, 5 or sometimes 10 or more offers to choose from. In these cases their strategist will work with them on their ‘wonderful dilemma’, helping them choose for example between their Ivy League acceptances to identify the best fit them.
