REDi was founded just a week before Christmas of 2003, the intent being, as founder Deon Basson is often heard saying, ‘to do something remarkable’. So we created a business based on our strengths and interests, which have always been property, technology and entrepreneurship.
For those of us who are of an age to remember what 2003 was like, it’s the year that software giants like WordPress, Skype, Safari and Adobe Creative Suite were founded. Facebook was a few months away from launching, and Google Maps came to life in early 2005. The tech world was a visionary undertaking despite the industry.
Who we are today
Our mission is to continue to transform the residential property industry by developing digital, online technologies and software solutions that enable and empower property professionals to market, manage and communicate more efficiently, effectively and profitably.
Our clients rely on us. They trust us with their property assets, operational processes, and financial and project data. This is a significant responsibility, one we do not take lightly.
The bedrock on which our business is built is the core values of team, courage and ownership.
We live and breathe these principles daily on a personal level. Co-founding social initiatives like True North and the Imagine group is as natural and important to us as our clients and our team members. These, and other such initiatives, were set up to create wealth and change lives for the better. We build crèches and are committed to ongoing monthly financial support. Our beneficiaries include True North, the Early Childhood Development, and The Imagine Group.
Our overarching value proposition is an integrated digital ecosystem for the residential property industry, one that is aligned to the ongoing property life cycle.
Our technologies deliver value in three key areas:

- efficiencies through process automation and integration
- provision of accurate real-time reporting 24/7/365.
To date, our systems have managed and facilitated the transactions of:
- ±350 new developments
- in excess of 110,000 properties, totalling more than R120 billion in gross sales value.
We are proud of our long-standing working relationships with:
- top property developers such as Balwin Properties, Amdec Developments, CalgroM3, MSP, Old Mutual Investment Group, etc.
- top residential communities such as Waterfall Estate, Val de Vie, Steyn City, Harbour Arch, etc.
Conservative estimates predict that we are set to grow considerably over the next three to five years, continuing our role as the leading PropTech company in South Africa.
What tomorrow holds
After 16 years in the business, we continue to feel excitement regarding the projects we are nurturing and the clients we serve. The future is bright. We are humbled and cognisant of our position in African PropTech. Our clients and our teams will continue to be at the forefront of our priorities.
