The official Newsletter of the Kingswood Golf Estate HOA

July 2026 Edition #20

From the CEO

Dear homeowners and residents

Welcome to the latest edition of The BUZZard.

The recent Annual General Meeting, held on 25 June 2026, marked an important milestone in the governance calendar of Kingswood Golf Estate. I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to all homeowners who attended the meeting, participated in the discussions, and exercised their voting rights. The continued engagement of our members is a vital component of a healthy and successful homeowners association, and it is encouraging to see residents taking an active interest in the future of our estate.

I would also like to congratulate our newly elected trustees, namely Janco du Toit, Marilyn Franklin, Gerrit (‘Fielies’) Nieuwoudt, Les Penfold, and Ben Vermeulen. In addition, Pietman van Heerden continues to serve on the board and will remain an integral part of the leadership team, guiding the affairs of the association. I look forward to working closely with the board as we continue to build on the solid foundations that have been established over the years.

At the same time, we extend our sincere gratitude to those trustees whose terms of office have come to an end, in particular Adrie Conradie and Jonathan Witts-Hewinson. Their contribution, commitment, and stewardship have played an important role in the ongoing development and success of Kingswood, and we thank them for their service to our community.

The AGM also provided an opportunity to reflect on the progress made across the estate during the past year. While much of the focus often falls on visible improvements, there is an enormous amount of work that takes place behind the scenes to ensure that Kingswood continues to operate efficiently, remains financially sound, and delivers the lifestyle experience that residents have come to expect.

One of the highlights of the past year has undoubtedly been the continued success of our Community Centre and Clubhouse.

The facility has become a true focal point for community interaction and social engagement, bringing residents, golfers, and visitors together in a manner that strengthens the unique sense of belonging that exists within Kingswood.

Across the estate, various infrastructure, landscaping, and maintenance projects continue to receive attention as part of our commitment to preserving and enhancing the quality, safety, and aesthetic appeal of our environment. In recent months, Kingswood, like many communities across the Garden Route, experienced the impact of severe weather conditions and exceptionally heavy rainfall.

While the estate weathered the storms remarkably well overall, certain areas of our road network, stormwater infrastructure, and associated facilities sustained damage.

I am pleased to report that assessments were conducted immediately following the weather event, and repair and rehabilitation work is already underway.

Priority has been given to those areas affecting accessibility, safety, and the day-to-day functioning of the estate.

While some of these repairs will take time to complete, please be assured that management and the board are committed to restoring all affected infrastructure as efficiently as possible and to implementing measures aimed at improving resilience against future weather-related events.

We would like to thank residents for their patience and understanding while these works are being undertaken. The positive cooperation shown by homeowners during this period has once again demonstrated the strong community spirit that exists within Kingswood.

Residents will also have noticed the introduction of our internal traffic-calming and access-control initiatives.

These measures are aimed at enhancing road safety and promoting responsible use of our road network, while ensuring that Kingswood remains a secure and enjoyable environment for all who live here.

Additional installations are planned over the coming months as part of this broader strategy, but read more about this elsewhere in this edition of The BUZZard.

What continues to impress me most, however, is the strength of our community.

Whether through participation in social events, support for estate initiatives, involvement in governance matters, or the simple acts of neighbourliness that occur every day, it is the people of Kingswood who truly make this estate special.

As we move forward, our focus remains firmly on responsible governance, sound financial management, continuous improvement, and delivering value to our homeowners.

While challenges inevitably arise from time to time, I remain confident that through collaboration, constructive engagement, and a shared commitment to excellence, we will continue to strengthen and enhance all that Kingswood has to offer.

I would like to thank our homeowners, residents, staff, service providers, and trustees for their ongoing support, dedication, and contribution to the success of our estate.

Together, we are building not only an exceptional residential golf estate, but a thriving community that we can all be proud to call home. I trust that you will enjoy this edition of The BUZZard and the many stories and updates contained within it.
